You smoke that shit you'll never smoke again. It's not the right type of 'hemp' you're looking for.

Same species of plant, different anatomy and different growing/cloning techniques. However even cannibus plants grown for hemp fiber will produce some kind of smokable bud.

Though that can be harsh on the lungs, though smokable yes. I think I'd rather choose cannibis specifically grown to smoke rather than the fibre, to me it's like choosing to smoke glass.

Well in game, the genetic traits of cannibus would need to remain ambigous unless there is a seperate plant added to the game. In real life without the use of hydroponics gearing industrial sativa outdoors to a smokeable breed is a rather daunting task that takes many grow cycles and lots of love

Hasn't modern hemp been selectively bred to contain minimum amounts of THC, so as to fit government regulations? If yes, than I presume that medieval hemp was a bit better than modern one.

But yes, I want to smoke the 420 in H&H, so I can smoke while I smoke in the game. Here's an idea to make it useful: smoking pot makes you hungry, thus allowing you to gain stats a bit faster. To counterbalance it, when you're high all tasks take longer and your learning rate is lowered proportionately to how high you are.

Bull. Stoners aren't stupid just cuz they're high. This stereotype is a false corollation. Just because stupid people smoke weed doesn't mean that smoking weed is stupid or will make you stupid. Study high, take the test high, Get High scores!

Also, Hemp has not been engineered to contain less THC. It simply IS that way. Kinda like Poppies and opiates, only certain strains of the poppy plant produce morphine, codeine and thebaine. Likewise, only two known cannabis strains contain psychoactive chemical (THC, CBN, CBD & a few others) and those are Sativa and incida. Many other varieties of cananbis exist and have existed since time immemorial that in fact have never (as far we know) produced THC or any other psychoactive chemcial.

SCIENCE!

Back on the 'stupid' corollatrion and strains. Indica varieties tend to contain higher CBd/CBn to THC ratios (especially if they're matured & cured longer). This is what gives marijuana it's anticonvusant, pain killer, and sedative values.

Seems a bit complicated to code but if you're going to add drugs to the game you should really sort out the science from the stereotypes and propaganda before you implement functions.
