First Off, to all those people that say hot air balloons don't belong in Haven and Hearth, I say, why not? If you have the ability to craft metal, have access to a fuel source, linen cloth, and trees, then you should be able to craft a hot air balloon. It's just a wicker basket underneath a big bag of hot air.

Also, it's not pointless. While it would admittedly be slow, it would be a great means of exploration and transportation. You don't need to lug a boat around whenever the river makes a detour because you don't want to lose the two items inside it, you can just fly off in the balloon.

And if you don't like it, just don't build it (or shoot it down with a couple of arrows).

I believe the point he is making is that although on 'Earth' these things weren't created until way later, the ability to create them is there in the 'Hearth world'.

Uhh no. We don't have electricity, engines, advanced mechanics, or even petroleum for that matter. Using the materials already in game you can feasibly create a hot air balloon. Not a tank, or a plane, let alone an aircraft carrier.
