A good alternative is a form of magic that affects players with the skill who have full life slider. People with full life and full tradition and full peaceful could be protected by their ancestors, and this could create a debuff on an attacking player. Possibly crippling depending on their slider positions.

Raephire's sounds somewhat reasonable.

Rather than a fucking "NO I NOT PLAYIN' GO AWAY" type thing, it's actually somewhat reasonable.

That particular suggestion would be more balanced if you make it a defender buff rather than an attacker debuff. Unless the scenario of martyring alts to weaken a god before you strike him down amuses you...?

Not that I believe either one should be implemented.

sounds better. kinda like an armor/evade buff for the defender.

"The ancestors are pleased that you continue their traditions, and as such hath bestowed upon thee protection from thine attackers"

Or something like that. Perhaps the buff could be based on your sliders? A full Nat. and Trad. slider would give you some sort of earth based defense, whilst a full Ind. slider would give you increased armor?

I like that. But make that an ancestor ability directly:

Maybe ancestors could stop a fight and prevent initiation of a fight with you for an amount of time depending on the strength of your ancestors. Of course it would cost a crapton of Numen.
It could buy you enough time to logout, but your stuff could still be stolen or destroyed.

long thread, didn't read anything but the title, can already guess the contents.
Just voicing my dissent, turning off pvp would not work in this game, not under any circumstances

I have to agree with most everyone here, PvP Toggle is horridly abusable and ruins the immersion of the game.
Sure you may not want to get involved with PvP. Don't play an MMO then. Right now group-based combat is very unbalanced (infact, combat in itself is unbalanced right now), so just hope you're not on the defender's side.
