Well, with that imprisonment system you could say something like this when the person is imprisoned:

So called Slaver: "tell me, what are you good at"
So called Slave: "I'm good at cooking, I'm village chef"
So called Slaver: "Then I'll lock you up near the oven, provide you with materials, and when you get me 100 breads your free to go"
so called Slave: "And what if I destroy any of the stuff?"
So called slaver: "Then I'll beat the crap out of you!"

This is'nt exactly slavery but it does make the other person work for you, as they know they can get free...

- Slave chained next to a bed... well, you get reduced travel weariness when you sleep in the bed next time ;)

To spice things up a bit, maybe the slaves could also be rescued or released, returning the control to their rightful owner (aka the player). This would also enable non-violent way to handle criminals.

Ha, reminds me of big villages taking advantage of smaller villages that don't have fancy mines. That or when they just take advantage of nubs and make them do all the hard labor.

Or most commonly them using macro alts(or mains in some cases.) to do their work for them.

In general, this would never work. People would just quit. Hahahah amusing to think about, though. Perhaps slavery in the sense that they have a very high chance of escape might work. Such as if they're chained somewhere based on certain stats, + their equips they should be able to break from their chains & the moment they break from them it alerts the "said" person of their escape so they can hunt'em down.
