Have to agree with Winterbrass the idea that simply moving behind a tree is 'the stealth system' isn't going to fly. Hiding objects as other objects as suggested earlier sounds like a good idea, say for example 10 boughs cover a boat and make it appear as a tree, if someone tries to interact with the tree it is revealed, or if you pass the detection roll you see a boat with a gray translucent tree shape over it (same thing the hider sees). Smaller items could appear as shrubbery.
