To be fair, those people are nubs. Now, I *like* the idea of cats and dogs running around town as long as feeding them isn't major pitfa and shouldn't have to be done more than once per day if not every other day (IRL).

Maintenance and upkeep are already a major fucking bitch in this game. If you don't have 10+ ovens and 10+ smelters/forges and 20+ crucibles, 40+ chests laying around various places, don't even pretend to know what tedium of maintenance is.

I have played the game for a long while now and know how everything works.

That does not however mean you know the history of the development of the game, the intended future, or at all understand balance of game dynamic in general. Nor does mean you understand the politico factor or political history of this game. Believe me even if you know all the game mechanics you are still a far cry from escaping nubdom. I promise you there are still many facets of this game you have yet to explore.

I've been playing since just before map reset and have only *just* broken into 'end game content' and still have MUCH left of the game to experience.

Hey now. If we can infect them with disease then there is some serious, real world connotations of biowarfare here.

He is also an excellent player with a broad understanding of game mechanics and the balance of things. just becuase he's a major dickhead doesn't mean he isn't a good person or player, just not one that's easy to get along with. I stole him from the codexians some time ago and consider it to be worth having been sold out by the morians and having my shit trashed to gain this excellent player into my village.

Just because he suggest non-critical bug fixes doesn't mean he doesn't want bugs fixed and more important core functionalities implemented. It's a suggestions forum, not a ransom note.

Sure we're fairly clueless about late-game mechanics and such, but that doesn't mean we deserve less respect. Of course, older people can claim seniority, for which I do not blame them, but "less than dirt" are harsh words for someone who is willing to put in the time to make a long term commitment to a game such as this.

Well with the cat suggestion, I wouldn't think they'd need to be fed since they've got rats. I'll go into more details on the prevention. The basic mouse traps are for the time period from the start of a new village to the point you start taming stuff, so it would serve no inconvenience to established towns once you get a cat, though that cat could be killed like any other animal. The only thing it wouldn't protect against is a massive onslaught of released rats from an enemy, whom would destroy all food and seeds if the residence aren't quick enough. Maybe infected rats could act as a massive HP debuff to a village to make use of bio warfare? :D

No offense to your village, I just deal with forum trolls by trolling them back. His capitalized words satisfied me.

Too easily amused kid.

No dude. Again, maintenance sucks fucking balls. And as to the rat-warfare shit that's seriously lame. I mentioned biowarfare as a joke.

It's be cool to have cats and shit running around the village to give it a sense of livelihood but anything more than that needs to have serious consideration in it to be balanced against future combat and warfare mechanics. They're shitting on you because you fail to realise this.

Well then that means they're open for suggestion and food supply destruction and poisoning is a real war strategy, it's called "scorched earth". War isn't just PvP, especially in a game like this where food and other resources are a need.
