Stuff that's already built into the object should decay at whatever rate the finished product will decay at (make something reasonable up for houses, probably pretty slow)

not. needed.

Don't get me wrong, current stockpiles are ugly and uninformative, and I'd love to see them replaced with specialized stockpile constructions (maybe with some better interface), but don't take away what we have before we get what we're supposed to have.

Four fucking pages of high maintenance & tedium suggestions to address an issue that will disappear when LP goes out the window anyway?

If you're building a brick wall, why not store the bricks in the wall that you're building...?

Only reason we didn't do it at Sodom is because you guys wanted us to get all the bricks together first (which was a dumb idea and I think we're lucky they weren't stolen/dumped)

If you're not a retard, then you won't assume that I'm deliberately seeking to make the game less pleasant to play. That is not what I want.
If the suggestion was to implement some easier storage mechanism, then I'm all for that, I've supported such suggestions in other threads.

What's happening here though, if you read through it again. Is that someone is complaining about lots of abandoned construction sites.
Someone else has suggested that having them decay, as all other similar things do would be a reasonable solution.
Jackard has complained about that solution because it means he can't do something that I consider 'sploity' to store tons and tons of whatever resource he's stockpiling (probably WMD's)

I object to Jackards objection because I don't think that we should avoid fixing things in a proper way because it breaks his broken workaround to some other broken part of the system. We don't want to prevent good work to preserve bad work, that's the opposite of good engineering.

Luck had nothing to do with it. It's called a claim. Nor did we store all the bricks first but you would know that if you'd actually helped with the wall wouldn't you?

What I am assuming is that you have no actual experience of large parts of the game including doing things on a large scale for more than yourself.

I guess fixing a minor annoyance that results in creating a large problem is good engineering? You might live in your fluffy castle with bunny and pink unicorns but Jackard doesn't and he is making sure the large problem gets addressed first unlike you who think it will magically disappear on it''s own.

Agreed Trave, I think the heap system I proposed gives a non 'sploity' means of bulk storage that could be better then the building site method (greater density, simpler interface, unique graphics) in terms of ease of use with the very mild decay downside and even that could be prevented by building it indoors. Lots of people seem more attached to the exploits their using then they area to bettering the game.

We had shit nicked off a claim before we were storing bricks there, black arts aren't that hard to come by.

RAEG! YOU HAVE A CUP!

You clearly don't spend enough of your game paying close attention to what I do. I contributed over 1k bricks to the wall, I've grassed at least 70% of that plot you said needed grassing, I've made about 150 liters of wine and I've probably done 10 or so cloths. I spent about 90% of my first few days of play time catching per fish so that siezure could pump his PER up.

Consider that I've done all this while playing VASTLY less hours than many of you other players who are making larger contributions.

I'm angry that you're still mouthing off and calling me a feckless layabout who doesn't contribute and I'm angry that you've provoked me to defending myself. If you are seriously at ALL upset with me for reals then bring it up in the Sodom private forums or with me in person. If you're just trying to kick up a big stink because you think aggression is a good substitute for a well reasoned argument then just fuck off douche bag!

Again you are making retarded assumptions.
1 - Leaving the problem of large scale storage unresolved was never suggested
2 - Order of implementation has not been discussed
3 - I have more than one bunny but not multiple unicorns.

The only thing you've said in your whole post that makes a bit of sense is that you feel the constructions signs all over the wilderness from loom grinding and sign trappers is only a minor annoyance that pales in comparison with the inability to store over 1000 bricks in a single tile.

I disagree with that as well, I personally find it immersion breaking and a moderate annoyance on the same level as cliffs over rivers in mountainous regions.
I find the inability to store ludicrous amounts of resources more of an annoyance than a game breaking problem as the majority of players don't need such large stockpiles and given that cupboards already allow us to store quite a lot.

It was after and they stole metal and metal tools. Nobody is retarded enough to steal an inventory full of bricks. Crap q bricks. Or is someone retarded enough?

I contributed over 1k bricks to the wall

Then you would have known why we had to store them.

I'm angry that you're still mouthing off and calling me a feckless layabout who doesn't contribute and I'm angry that you've provoked me to defending myself. My comment had nothing to do with your contribution to our village just with your past experience as a player. You're starting to learn but your past experience colors your perspective on issues as mine does with my perspective. I don't give a crap how much you contribute as long as you don't consume more than you produce and it's not the case with you. Sure I'd like everyone to contribute more but I know it's not going to happen so don't get all butthurt on me.

The only thing you've said in your whole post that makes a bit of sense is that you feel the constructions signs all over the wilderness from loom grinding and sign trappers is only a minor annoyance that pales in comparison with the inability to store over 1000 bricks in a single tile.

It's 300 currently.

as the majority of players don't need such large stockpiles and given that cupboards already allow us to store quite a lot.

I guess you made a poll and asked people if they use stockpiles and then came to the conclusion it's the majority that doesn't right? Cupboards are indoors only and immobile. I guess random houses placed all over construction sites with the only purpose of temporary storing the materials are not immersion breaking at all. Houses that would most likely have to have to be destroyed right after you finish (if you need the space). And we're getting back to your masochism problem or is it sadism?
