Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

sigh  If this would ever be implemented, im out of this game for sure. There is no way on earth im gonna be forced in to having "simulated sex" with some horny teenagers in an online game.
Get a girlfriend irl and keep your wet dreams to yourself wtf. This is not the sims!

Good advice anyway :)

Well, in some way this is a simulator of a person living in a fantasy medieval world.

But there are different kinds of simulations, with different levels of detail.

Introducing children in a game like this will most probably create tons of problems for developers, because these virtual children may get hurt during the common gameplay, and any kind of violence (even virtual) against children is highly protested by any modern moral human society.
Ultima Online was planning to introduce children in gameplay, but then cancelled the development of that gameplay system because of this moral aspect.

Please, do not point at Fable game series, children there are NOT a part of a destructive gameplay, but only a social one.
Haven & Hearth is a realistic MMO simulation, and making gameplay for children characters without destructive content is not an easy task.

Making sexual gameplay for an MMO game is not a new idea.
If you make it a positive gameplay experience ONLY, approved by both players - this can be interesting addition to the common gameplay.
For example, making love improves the mood of both characters for some time.

Make it positive, make it interesting - and this might be good for everyone.
Game mechanics should not allow any kind of pervert actions, especially sexual violence.
Victory needs no explanation. Defeat allows none.
Победа не требует оправдания. Поражение не имеет его.

LOL, who said anything about you?

Blood and thunder, etc. [NSFW]

Sense of humour should be mandatory around those parts.

It is a silly idea, but silly ideas are entertaining...

Silly indeed.

Well, I said something about me, since i stated my oppinion about this idéa.
The idéa that the OP is suggesting is more or less game changing, wich means everyone including me would be forced to include it in their gameplay strategy or get way behind everyone else. As a female i dont find it in anyway an apealing way of playing an online game, i find it very offensive, and it would go against my own moral integrity, hence im stating, if it was to be implemented i no loonger would have any desire to play the game at all, and my guess is many other female gamers would go the same way. with that said

im well aware of the fact that teenage boys think its fun to joke around about these things and simpley cant stop giggeling anytime sex or poo is mensioned. can easily be ignored tho unless it gets out of hand, if its done the right way tho, i can even laugh about it myself. Rape on the other hand, thats where its starting to cross the line into the less funny parts. (i must admit that i found the bear cartoon funny tho , but its always a fine line)

Maybe I am misreading it, but it seems to me the op did NOT include rape as a game option.

Dondy wrote:This is just the way I picture it.

As well as the options invite, kin, chat etc the option "Proposition" is available. If the offer is accepted and if the parties are one male and one female and if the male does not equip intestines then the female has a one in ten chance of getting pregnant.

The option to rape animals was introduced by a griefer derailing the thread.

Also, given the amount of caretaking the baby and toddler would require only a player slavishly devoted to feeding and protecting the small would produce a viable new character. You'd have to take it with you when out foraging, digging for clay etc. (or it would not get the development advantages) and it would be quite defenseless against boars and bears. But it's all kind of moot. If you look at the date on the original post it predates full change players being able to reincarnate. I think it was posted as an alternative to going full tradition shortly after J & L introduced reincarnation at all.
