Casuals.

Man, but it really is, but considering what you're doing you should have to 'work' for it, the problem is introducing actual difficulty into MMOs, you really can't do it without making extremely complicated systems (which i'm really for).

I think this game has broken many, many walls in MMOs, grind is the biggest one, HnH is close to perfecting all systems that are 'broken' in Korean MMOs, if grind was alleviated I'd fucking faint.

Well I agree that the game is grindy as-is but I think this idea reduces grind. Not increases it. Harder, better, stonger, faster is the nature of any MMO and most especially PvP mmos. Since this is a sandbox and all goals are self-set that means options like this should be made available as possible goal.

Or what am I missing about how this function would differ from the general principle of character investment returns more efficient character development.

Most of the grind in this game is generated by shitty UI. I know it's hard to tell the difference between the UI and the the things you do to achieve the goals that require using that UI but they are there. Place the blame for grind effect where it bleongs: the UI, not the mechanics.
