I enjoy it, lots of other people apparently do.

So make a new character and stop trying to impose your view on those that disagree.

The problem is apparently ALOT of people want to start from scratch, so it is you who do not want the restart imposing your view on those that disagree.

Wait, so how do those "few" that want to keep their characters stop the "many" who want to start over from actually starting over?
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

...but you can still create a new character and start fresh. We can't get back our characters.

Edit: I just tried, and you can get at least 3 people on a segment of brick wall.
i guess they never miss huh

So explain, what else does it take?
With the concept of infinite maps, there's going to be lots of space, we won't be confined into one world map like it is currently.

Uh because it isn't a fresh world unless everything is fresh, you'll all be out bashing bears on day one and the world will have no stone unturned.

Let me say two things. I did NOT mean to start a flamewar, but I had a feeling that this would happen.

This is NOT about where I am as a character. This is NOT about what certain people have to lose or gain. This is NOT about rewarding or not rewarding certain players for being loyal to the game through its development (a matter which is entirely the devs' perogative). This is about starting fresh, on a new map, to test the balance of the game from beginning to end. We all want a well-developed, thought out, balanced game. We've already seen how players function on the current map, versus the environment and versus each other during all stages. And the way it sounds, there's going to be a bit of work towards balance & fixing currently broken systems before the map reset. When we have new materials in place for the new map, I'll bet you everyone is going to make a rush for the new materials that nobody was able to bring over. If you can understand the repercussions of this great, if not... I'm not really sure what to add.

I will acknowledge that the most established players have the most to lose. It's the devs' choice as to whether or not to honor your loyalty. But I ask you to move forward and do one of two things for the sake of this thread:

1. State that you want / do not want a character reset and PLEASE stray away from personal bias. Look at the big picture of the game's development, not who you can catch up to or what you have to lose.
2. Talk about the new map features as per the original intention of the thread.

tldr: BY GOD IF YOU FAGGOTS ASK FOR COMPENSATION DURING AN ALPHA OR MENTION THAT YOU WANT TO BE A SUPERPLAYER ONE MORE TIME, I AM GOING TO RIP OUT YOUR FUCKING ASSHOLE

And how exactly was the world 'fresh' when you first came? You said it was fun to start from scratch when you were a newbie - why would creating a new character be any different now?

I think that the best time to do a character wipe would be when the whole skills system gets updated (there was some talk of scrapping the LP system, IIRC). This is likely to be a development focus in the near future. Getting two character wipes in short succession would be a bit frustrating, so I think it's best not to do one with the map reset.
