Doesn't fit the realism of H&H :/
And whats more is I don't want big ass monsters after me while prospecting in far away lands :c

the idea isn't so evil afterall.

There could be wild animals more famous and dangerous than the normal one, like a BLACK BEAR, really rare but really evil. Nothing about Fantasy, we don't need it, the nature is full of this wild animals..

Rare beasts:
Black Bear
White bear
White Wolf *
Black Wolf*
Albino Boar / Deer / Fox (not stronghest, only rare and precious)
Black Nordic Horse* (Reeeaaally rare, really strong, really cool.)
White Linx* (not so weak, really rare, simply a wonderful beast <3)

Oh, and the Trolls, if jorb wanna use them.

Those aren't "miniboss", no one know where they are, but if you find one of those rare animals, you'r lucky...or dead, depend. XD

So would I. And I kinda like flames idea as well...maybe each Sgrid could have a single type of odd monster occasionally spawn. It would add some more local character to the various grids.

Sounds a lot nicer the way Flame suggests it, instead of being forced into a single thought about it "Kill monster, obtain rare items", what you do depends on what you want to do, they're just there to be rarer. You could protect them, kill them, just be around them...

I'd love to see any of those even if they were just redrawn slightly stronger versions of their usual animals. (Those suggestions are also pretty awesome for animals) :)

This sounds really neat, actually. Especially if the rarer animals range was limited to particular supergrid(s) as mentioned above to force either long-range hunting or trade in their pelts/furs or whatever. Of course there would have to be corresponding recipes to take advantage of the rare items, though, too.

I kinda like the idea of mythological creatures, but dire versions of animals sound pretty cool. For added depth, dire animals should spawn more dire animals if left alone, that way if you ignore the giant effing bear long enough you'll end up having to deal with three giant effing bears.
