Message board.
Container. Only parchment can be put in.
container size 3x4. Size to place 1x1.
Requires: 2 boards, 2 blocks, 0.1 ink (to subscribe nice title) and carpentry skill to build.
Can be opened, can be named/subscribed once (like runestone), can be destroyed, can`t be lifted. Must be placed on paved or plowed tile.
Shows parchments on it (like winerack do it with bottles).

I was gonna make a different topic since the opening post of this topic seemed to imply a full forum system (or at least that's how people interpreted it), but I guess this sums up what I want and it seems all related ideas have been merged in this topic, anyway. I don't care about multiline messages or anything too elaborate; just a little something you can create a sign with. People seem to get annoyed when you waste boulders by turning them into runestones, and maybe you don't want to create such a permanent sign (it can be destroyed, but I hope you know what I mean). It is pretty wasteful to leave a runestone saying something like "I borrowed your boat".
Wicker baskets are often just a horrible mess created by new players - I've destroyed all the ones in my settlement as I just see them as garbage. They're a waste of branches, ugly to see littered around, and something I often don't bother to check since they were likely just created for LP. If you want to name areas within your village or leave notes around, I think it would be best to create a sign instead of hiding a parchment in a dump of wicker baskets. Easily noticeable and easily readable.

I wouldn't mind the signs being moveable, though. And they'd decay and be easily destroyable, so they wouldn't quite be a replacement for runestones (whatever those are for).
