Sandbox by definition does not mean entirely boundless.
Ever wondered why people don't have games which allow you to shape the entire landscape flawlessly down to mountains and landmass? Griefing is one, the second is that it's impossible to accomplish this.
I can deal with sandboxes having certain boundaries that you don't cross, and I can deal with them having impossibilities, you can't literally hit or attack the ground in this game or kill the water but you aren't complaining about that.
Regardless of all that I never once said it would be impossible for people to totally ruin sanctuaries and plough them out, what I did suggest is making that very hard, which puts people off the thought of chopping the forests.
