Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Hey that sounds cool.

I will appreciate removal of teleporting, regional stuff, etc. because it would be funny and challenging. But I recognize I'm playing a little "casual", since I don't wanna be the best char in anything or to have the best pwner village in the world. So I can understand the position of those who don't wanna see such features in game. As this is an alpha we can use that to test things like that or any other stuff... the problem is we don't exploit the alpha status and we need a more accurate system for feedbacking.

wagons suck for transport, rafts are even worse, removing fast travel and implementing localized resources would be the dumbest idea ever.
if i'm in a situation where i can either mine iron in the north, or grow crops in the south, i'm not going to find a trade partner for goddamn flour or shit like that. i'm going to make a 'north' indy alt and a 'south' nature guy, and cram deer dogs until i can warp back and forth. or if fast travel is removed, i guess i'll be caravaning to myself which is even more retarded.

This forum needs that barfing smiley.

Seriously, dude, you think that things shouldn't be changed because other things might not be changed? If J&L had your attitude, they would've declared the game final right around the time they implemented planting trees, and called it a day.

That is highly incorrect, as it has a built-in assumption that I want to endlessly cut down trees, or catch 300,000 fish, or put 8 layers of brick walls around a village, or get up to 1300 strength. That's not fun to me. I enjoy having options open up to me as I continue to play. But, once again, this is not what the topic is about.

It seems to me the posters here either think the economy is great how it is and does not need improvement, or that the game does not need much of one. If that is the case, then fine. But the discussion on additional content/things to do at each tier of gameplay (beginning/middle/end) probably requires its own thread.

Well yes, if it was implemented the way your strawman is constructed it would result in what you say.

I think running a caravan could be a lot of fun if the right mechanics are in place.
