I think main purpose of body made from parts is to be able to control each part's animation independently.

Yeah sure, but still:

There are 3 different states of arms: norlam idle, carrying something and carrying something above head. Only first state of arms need to be animated.
We have only one legs to be animated and torso and ehad barely have animation if they have any at all...

No... now u have separate files for each part (5 of em) after you merge u will have only one. Well you have 6 parts of u include gender (female torso and male torso and at the end u get 2 files). So instead of 6 having 2 files is lots of bigger files? It's not only loading and rendering but also sending data from server to client for each part... Just curious why is done like that...

If I'm not mistaken (I don't have a lot of knowledge aboiut openGL and that stuff), loading a lot of small files is slower for rendering than loading one bigger file.
Ofc if original client would use sprites like that there would be no need for server calculation for each part and some ppl would get probably more FPS.

What is your thoughts devs? :D

That may sound good if it were just the idle body layer being drawn, but I'd like to see how you'd handle clothing and animation combinatorics that way. :)

It's not quite that simple, though. First of all, the arm states can be controlled separately, making for 9 possible arm states, and they exist in both animated and non-animated modes. Then you also have modular torsos (for gender). In total, you have 3 left arms * 3 right arms * 3 poses (standing, walking, sitting) * 2 torsos * 8 angles = 432 combinations, just for the body. Then you get to handle clothing as well.

Playing Offline

Postby DeadSexy » Mon Jan 17, 2011 4:03 pm

Is there a way to play this game without an internet connection?

As in single player?

That would be pretty sweet for people like me who have limited access to the internets.

why would you play an online game offline?

you could just rape resources without harm or anything.

This makes me mad
