I don't think it really mattered seeing as I was in for about a second before drowning. Of course, this game is incredibly sadistic, so I don't know. Anyway, I can't quite remember the stat, and now he's dead.

constitution matters a lot in swimming. did you just start today or is this just the first time you've clicked on the forums?

Oooohhhhh boy. Not again.
Swimming is not a skill- it is a form of suicide. You need at least 40 CON to survive even the smallest river. I don't know how people get that level quickly - I must have played for months now without getting more than 20...

I can cross about 6 - 7 squares with my 33 con. Of course, I nearly died the last time a tried it...

Swimming safety measure: No treading water

I suggest that, in order to reduce lag- and linkdeath-based drownings, that you make it impossible to tread water. If you lose your connection while swimming, you should just keep going in a straight land until you hit shallow water. Really, why would anyone want to tread water, anyway?
