Well, I can assure you I don't have a neckbeard and this is just such an unappealing idea, within 1/2 months your char ages and dies?! Why would anyone even bother playing?
Even in The Sims they had to add a reversing age ingredient, as no-one wants to invest any time into a char to then watch it age and die, lol, there are enough ways to die in this game without having it forced upon you anyway.

Two different kinds of players then lol.

Certainly it's hyperbole to say that death from old age, taking into account inheritance, removes the point of playing.

You die of old age in real life.
I bet you find your life valuable and worth having.

If anything, life is given more value by the inevitability of death. What you can do is finite, making the most out of something finite is far more extraordinary than doing something with infinite resources and time.

Wow this is such a fucking stupid idea.
You can't actually without joking say "you die from old age in real life".
You can also get cancer in real life out of nowhere, but who the hell would want something like that in the game? It makes no sense.
That's like adding a "random loss" in chess, saying in real life kings sometimes die of old age or other stuff, so why not in chess.

Are you serious?!

I think it must be because Robben is into the whole role playing stuff, maybe that makes it harder to separate rl from a game. :)

If you don't say mine, then I will make it my mission in hafen to hunt you down. No pressure though, just give me your honest answer.

PS: I am NOT joking.

Yours certainly made me laugh the most. Something about saying "shitting out cheese" just gave me such a weird mental image and I don't know why.

My idea is funny to you?
do you have a deathwish sir??
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Do you sit there, paralyzed, knowing that if you eat your breakfast you won't have it anymore?

I raised the parallel to "real life death" not because I believe Haven should mirror real life in every respect, but because of "RL Death's" value to demonstrate by analogy that the eventual loss of something does not demean its inherent value.

If you can overcome associating death with only the negativity of loss, then you may understand its potential benefit as a gameplay mechanic.

I do actually, but only rarely. Then it becomes cold and unappetizing so I eat it anyways.
