If you guys all got iron mines, you'd be complaining how you can't mine gold (getting 5 bars a smelter, of course).

Theres too many mines.

I've passed atleast 8 copper mines in a single supergrid, along with two or three iron mines. I even have a spot with Copper, Tin, and Iron all within the same village influence square. (without banners LOL)

if circling my entire village to the point I get lost isn't "properly travelling" then I don't know what is. If you wanna prove me wrong, you're more than welcome to find a mine for me. I'll even supply the rustroot.

No circling your village till you get lost is not proper travelling. Walk straight. Walk straight (or take a boat for that matter) for hours. Walk straight for a few more hours. Travelled at least 5 or 6 hours? Ok, start prospecting. If nothing is found, continue walking straight for a couple of more hours. This world now has 81 supergrids, so it is enourmous. There are plenty of mines out there. Therefor this thread has become absolutely obsolete. Who still is complaining about not having a mine is just doing it plain wrong.

Btw. what happened to the devs wish to keep mines a scarce ressource? Now everyone has it.

If there are no mines in your SG, it doesn`t mean there are no mines at all. Ppl just hate to relocate, but I tell you the new grids are swarming with mines. I personally found 3 in same grid (iron, copper, tin) for my village and claimed them (they are near each other). And I found ample amounts in other grids too (didn`t built all of them even, I gave away like 4 mines for the folks at leprosorium.ru). There are frequent "mine giveaways" at havenandhearth.ru. I noted the places where I got mines signature, so if you want you can PM me with hearthsecret, and I can try and see if any of those weren`t claimed. Be aware though, these mines are a long ways from the worldmap center.

you guys are seriously lucky. i don't know exactly how large a SG is or which SG i am on but i have traveled hours in each direction using both rivers and land and have only found one measly tin mine which was set up as a public mine for the area then claimed by some asshole that wasn't even using it. 95% of the cities i've found don't even have mines.

To make absolutely sure you are in relatively undiscovered terrain just travel until you hit an invisible border. This is the edge of the map, meaning you are now in the supergrids which just recently have been added. When you search in the central supergrids for mines you probably won't find anything because players have been prospecting in them for months. Even travelling those grids for hours won't help then.

well if i had any idea where i was on the map i'd have a better idea of how to get to the newer areas. our town has no problem up-and-leaving for a mine.

NothingHill is about my only landmark, russian city with nople crossroads which is also near a mountain if that helps. they don't seem to be too abundant.

Take some inititive and find out where you are then. Check their nople crossroads, find out how much TW it takes to get to nople. For me its like 200+% and I have abit over 50AGI. this mean I am a few supergrids away (maybe 2?) from nople. I also know the direction there. And I know other towns and kin them and chat with them and discuss and compare notes. This didn't just happen, took me a long time actually until i figured it all out. I therefore know which supergrid I am in, where in that grid I am located, and how far away from the nearest map edge (south) I am.

You want metal, or mines or trade? Work for it, earn it, make sure you deserve it.
