Well, you approve of grinding mechanics. Clearly you are some alien creature.
'Grinding', no. It needs to be diverse, and with "LP from items" it doesn't need to be grind, if you work 'smart' you can get what you want that's 'grind' from others via that for LP.
I do however approve that you shouldn't be able to spawn a new character on a new account and be 'combat ready' by just tossing a shield and sword on him, while I do think that player (not character!) tactics and strategy should mean
a lot it should not be the sole factor, it should be possible for a
great player with a poor character to beat a medium player with a medium character, or a poor player with a great character, in fact the player should be emphasized a lot more, but for that to happen two things need to happen IMO:
1)Make PvP even
more immersive. A fuckton of weapons, more moves, some more maneuvers, and make it so that you can properly execute what you are thinking ON THE FLY, the big problem as it stands now is that while it is mildly elaborate, you can't execute those other moves not on your hot bar (like perhaps Fan the Flames or Consume) in time for them to be worth a shit.
2)With character not mattering as much as player einherjar can stay as it is or be tweaked to work better, as it is no longer some overpowered mechanic but just gives that medium-understanding player a boost in his character department, allowing him to better pressure or intidimate the other player. He still probably won't win if he doesn't have a great understanding... but he has a better chance.
