Say, when wearing a dagger your stab ability is cut by a percentage but your skill use is shortenned by a formula somewhere along the lines of, dex/agi and your dagger q. This allows for faster skills with a cut to power, the way a dagger should be.
Edit: Added the idea for wooden or stone swords. Possibly the same damage if not 20ish or so higher than the stone axe so that new players have access to things like sting for hunting purposes. As Bmj said it could be a stepping stone between stone axes and swords

.75, same as punch. Even if it used no IP, it would give MC users an alternative to punch for no ip
