I was under the impression that it was based upon European geography and mythology, but was otherwise a fictional world, or so I'd read on the game description. But I guess whatever on that point. Not quite sure I see the logic in the characters in game being as they are just to reflect their Gods' images, though.

Naw, but I've seen the works in person, and a supposedly white God made people of all shades. Prismatic divinity or something like that.

If people don't like it when someone suggests the implementation of Mediterranean climatic and geographic elements, why are they racists when they reject different skin coloring?

The point of the suggestion is that, in a Eurocentric gaming world, it'd be a really inclusive thing to do this. The racism is systemic.
