So it seems, based on reading the thread, that the real issue people are complaining about is not Permadeath, but how strong players can become if they play forever/grind curiousities, and how it's impossible to, as a new player having not spent as much time in the game as the vets, to "catch up", and reach a point where the newbie and the vet are on an equal footing.

Is this assessment correct?

From what you read here perhaps that may be
so, but reality and opinion are far from the same
thing. In reality you CAN catch up to the vets
because the stats gain cost and there are curiosities
that are studied in short time for high LP gain such
as empresses, pearls, and other small curios.

if you grind said curios and trade for better equips
then you will arrive on 'equal footing' with them
easily, whatever that is.

The way the game is set up, it's SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED so that a new player will be able to catch up with an experienced player. With quality effects being square root functions and the skill/FEP point systems being reliant on the current stat total, it's impossible not to catch up given equal LP gain.

Removing a permadeath is the worst idea ever.. but if u really got scared of dying to animlas , or killed by people, we can make some skill that allows another player to lift a dead body to a village and maybe patch em up and bring that person back to life...

Solution? Permadeath is the solution.

I don't even consider HnH to have permadeath, but simply a rebirth system. You don't really fully die, because your new character keeps some of the essence of what was you.

We should kick it up a notch, 0% inheritance for all.

Gogo! Or at least let us completely redistribute our LP. It sucks we are forced into the professions of our father or mother.

no, you see, reincarnation simply means having a weaker clone of yourself. if you want a new skillset you should probably just make an alt or something

I think there are better ways to argue your point than to argue over some supposed actual meaning of the word reincarnation as it relates to the concept of learning points.

0% retention could be considered. PBs need to be redone anyway. Free redistribution every time you die? Nah, fuck that. The idea sucks.
