How can we revitalize trade?

I agree completely with whoever posted that wall of text, limited availibility = trade. However, one of the big problems with trade is this, in all my time playing I've never met a active neighbor, people simply aren't on all the time, and if both you and the guy you're trying to trade with aren't on at the same time you are screwed. Hence the vendor stands, which would be awesome if we could get them to work. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix the stands? I for one think my credit idea is awesome.

Which is why i suggested bog iron for making small amounts of coins.
It doesn't matter if high-end Sodom has too much metal and if players are too "lazy" to get it - for most players, having some coins and vendor stands for basic trade will indeed be usefull, and metal coins will be valueable enough for them.
