When I started playing, I built one dream catcher and one crate to store the dreams in. I built a second dream catcher for minor convenience. The crate only got about half full before I realized that I didn't need those dreams, so I stopped bothering to harvest them. I used up what was in the crate for a land claim or two and that's about it. Two dream catchers sitting in my settlement rarely touched.
I can't imagine anyone else uses the dreams that much... If they could hold so many dreams, you'd only ever need to build one and then you'd be set for life - never to build another or spend a second waiting for a new dream to be caught. And if you only need this one "be all and end all" dream catcher, what's the point? It might as well just be bundled up with some other item, such as all buildings having a built-in dream catcher (at the expense of needing that branch and string added to the construction, or perhaps a few more strings). At least with the oven there's a reason to build another in case you want to bake more than 4 things at once. And with the kiln, having that massive amount of bricks and glass doesn't really last long, so you might even want another one of those (since you probably wouldn't be building a dozen jars a day). This single Dream Captor™ would just be a bit too much, I think... and just not really worth it considering dreams are used so infrequently.
Dreams need more uses first; ones that wouldn't be abused as easily as Thijssnl and Granger predict.
