Logs

Have you ever been exploring and ran into a river only to decide that you want to see what's on the other side but dread the fact that you're going to have to build a boat just to do so? Why not be able to use a normal Log as a flotation device to carry you to the other side? Sure its cumbersome and hard to maneuver so you won't be using it for those long trips down river and through lakes but it will save you time and effort when all you want to do is cross a river.

You start by getting yourself a log. Throw it in the water. Right click > Avast! Simple as that. Because of its size and shape, the Log is only 1/3 the speed of a Boat and it cannot carry any weight other than yourself at the risk of sinking. Plus you will need both hands to hold onto the Log while you paddle yourself across the river so you won't be able to carry anything.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Would be an interesting use for those logs that fall into the river while I'm chopping trees.
"Normal" is only a difficulty level in video games - Aso11

Koya: What means "molest" ? Translator cannot translate it or do it with no logics...

Hilarious. I laughed while reading it. But before I finished, I was thinking that maybe you meant the person would stand on the log and roll it by walking on the spot like in that one minigame in Mario RPG.

I hate carrying a boat for 5 minutes or so to get it by some river I want to cross. Finding a ton of string for a simple raft is no quick task, either. I think the idea sounds pretty fair. I use boats quite often to travel long distances, so this would by no means be a lazy replacement. Maybe you should also need a skill to ride logs like this and maybe you should only be able to ride in a straight line, i.e. straight to the other side of the river (the shores would prevent you from torpedoing yourself down a long river).
