Ha!
I do kinda like the bugs bunny style "throw down a slab of meat and book it" idea... although i suppose if the boar is being territorial as opposed to hungry, you're SOL.... and it would be kinda wierd to eventually get in the habit of thinking "well, i'm off to the lake for some fishing. Oops! I almost forgot to bring my slab of meat!!!"
And just in general, a "pepper spray" made out of vinegar and dried pepper drupes would be a great non-lethal weapon for knocking out other players! (not sure why anyone would ever want to do that, but hey, why not!)
I always run out of stamina while sprinting away from boars, so I would love to see a "run for your life" function! Maybe set it up so it's only available once per rl day or something, or wearing/carrying no armor of any kind.

I like the idea of the wild still being wild and dangerous, but a "repellant" of whatever kind would be a sort of optional luxury.
and if dragons ever come into the game, they HAVE to be tameable!!!!
