Wine glass to tables

Postby Danno » Thu Aug 12, 2010 6:46 am

Didn't seem to find any mention of it when I searched "wine glass"... Odd.

I want to put wine glasses on the table and be able to pour more wine into them while they're still on the table. I can't imagine hassling people with wine if I were to have a feast or casual pixel meal. My Barbarism/Civlization belief is fully towards barbarism, but storing filled glasses in a crate is crossing the line. I may be barbaric, but I'm not an animal!
I dunno where it would fit best. With the food or with the dishes would be obvious options, or perhaps that blank area at the top-right part of the table (window) could gain a few grid spots for wine glasses. To keep it aligned with the other grids, it could be an extension of the one with the dishes, but the 2x2 additional spots could have a different background colour and only allow wine glasses (or perhaps other usable drinking ware).

+1,then maybe the fep reduction from the wine could also be tied to glass quality (similar to tableware), which would give wine glass q a purpose.

I would like to see the whole disconnect between symbel items and *normal* items removed. Why not carry a drinking horn around and pour mead out of a flask into it before quaffing the mead in the middle of the forest? Why not put wine glasses on a table? Can I stab someone with a butterknife? Chuck a plate like a discus and brain a rabbit?

That would be great.

There should probably be some limit on how many symbel items you could put on the table, though, or penalties on their bonuses if you have too much stuff. The current bonus system could be changed to only apply to decorations and such. I suppose the graphics for the table/what's on it could also be an issue. But yeah, I'd also like to actually use those other things. Could proper utensils make you feast faster? Poor utensils give you a chance of dropping the food or choking on the food?
Perhaps you could equip food items to plates the same way you equip a fishing rod; the food quality could be decreased if you eat it right off the table. Maybe the plates could appear larger on the table and you could even put multiple food items on one plate, and your combination could affect the FEP bonus. Or you'd put a plate in the 'symbel' area and then a 2x2 area on the table's grid would get a different background colour to indicate that it's the plate's area and the FEP yadda yadda, scrap the equipping of plates in this case.
