Plant removal (needed badly)

Postby Oblivior » Sat Aug 14, 2010 3:09 pm

Here is the problem when to many farm plants are togheter at the same grid on the same screen the game starts to lag and run slow making it impossible to farm.
Im sure allot of people have it, and im not talking about a 100 Square field.
No a 1000+ Squared field is enof to render the game so slow that it is near impossible to plant anything normal.
Also when you farm in the middle of it it is impossile to pick up the item it dropped since its behind another plant and the see trough doesnt always work.
Thats why these idea may solve them both.

on th e option screen add an option to remove the farm plants from the screen client sided so a player can still farm and add to this huge field and that he can pickup the stuff that dropped from those plants.

I'd love this, but it doesn't really work for if I want to harvest beetroots but they are all hiding behind grapes (not that I plant them like that), so I can't click on the beetroots. Maybe it could be in the options window and you could make certain crops vanish, instead of all of them at once. There would probably have to be some fancy coding or something so the game doesn't just render them invisible and still there.

Would make sense when harvesting would work like planting: click on the tile (with click-through everything), not the crop.

Same would be nice for pickup then too, especially for the small objects.

What kind of person runs a mass production field like that? Even I wouldn't have the time to harvest all 1000 crops.

EDIT: But okay, I guess some sort of filter would be great.

This can (and has been) already implemented client-side. Pester Pacho to add it to his client or learn how to add it yourself. I'd do it but I have not the slightest clue of running a repo and keeping it up to date would literally mean just copying pacho's and adding that.

i'm using pancho? if your talking about the see trought like i said that doesn't work at all and it stil ldoesn't stop the slowdown and lag.

I run a huge field like that i would even make it 10x bigged if i could because i need huge amounts of Wheat,Straw and Flax
