Crouched Mode

Postby TITANBASEBALL » Wed Aug 18, 2010 7:41 am

I propose that there should be another "stance" (for lack of a better word) added to the game. If you go into the mode "Crouch" (clickable as with the run speeds), you get an instant stealth bonus (to be determined) and your hearthling goes into a hunched over position. However, while in crouch mode, you can only move at crawl speed, so it cannot be abused by thieves wanting to constantly be in this mode. This mode would be useful for those roleplaying thieves, as their stealth would get a buff when they steal things in crouched mode. Plus, who wouldnt want to hide in a field of wheat dressed as death and scare your village-mates?

But that would make their to be yet another form of every pants made or making. Making more stuff makes Dev's sad ):

Besides stealth has almost no use in this game anyway, All a ranger has to do, is walk back and forth and, eventually scents.

This
while in crouch mode, you can only move at crawl speed
is not excluding
so it cannot be abused by thieves wanting to constantly be in this mode.
, unless you can't move while crouched.

as their stealth would get a buff when they steal things in crouched mode

For the act of stealing is would not make sens. (Walk up to, Crouch, Steal, Stand, Next target, ...)
It would/could make sens if that buff would be used when moving around in unfriendly territory's. (But not just entering: Walk up to, Crouch, Enter, Stand, Continue ...)

All a ranger has to do, is walk back and forth and, eventually scents.

Thats only for the detection of a scent. Scent's also have a Q value if I'm correct.(?)

[sent => scent]

You are incorrect.

Also, scents has a "c" after the first letter. Its not sents, its scents.

Ok, Q might be the wrong label. But what is that number that is attached to a collected scent then. (I'm sure is has a number.)

Right. Bad selective memory on my part.
And that usage number is not related in any way to any character skills? (If not => + "Besides stealth has almost no use in this game anyway".)
