Idea's For The New Map

Ok, i think the player base might agree with me on certain parts of this.

First, make the entire map forest, with fully grown trees, but also, deserts. The map is supposed to be larger, so thats all good. Personally i think navigating the map is way to easy right now, so you wouldnt have the people who stick to the dark brown blotches in the lower-right mini-map people.. And more seas, at least 3, and several rivers. inbetween deserts and forests the trees wouldnt just stop, they would slow down and stuff, you get the point, anyway, discuss.

:D

Perhaps they could invert it. Right now gassland seems to be the base with forests and swamps and dirtlands overlaying it. Maybe forest should be the base and swamps and grasslands and dirtlands can overlay -that-. It would probably make more sense if dirtlands were only found within grasslands, though.
i guess they never miss huh

Last post I read from Loftar on the subject was that he had performance concerns with the trillions of tree's that would create, however he liked the idea and was going to give it some more thought... Also that was before he did the 'decay' function so that might have solved his problem

seeing more gigantic forests would certainly be neat

especially if there were larger trees and undergrowth

Undergrowth....Yes! nice idea, Jackard!
I doubt many people on this forum have had to try to scramble through bear trails in manzinita scrub, but really, a forest can be a major pain to walk through. You see guys with machetes hacking their way through jungles, but really, lots of forests have almost unnavigable terrain. Then again, so do other terrain types. Bushes! I want bushes that must be slowly cleared by machete, and trails that must be kept clear of overgrowth!
