Giant Trees and Tree Homes

The trees in this game is kinda normal, but since it's based at a very ancient time...

What about the possibility of certain species of trees being able to grow 2 to 3 times their size, and allow you to produce more logs, at a slight cost of quality (older trees makes em weaker a bit)?

In another thread, I posted the idea of being able to hollow out a giant tree to make a home. The interesting factor is that you can't choose where to build such a thing since it's grown, but it also doesn't decay.

The giant tree when made into a home should be smaller than a timber house, roughly 3x3, and the floor is made of dirt, meaning you can lay stones on it and can't build cupboards on it. Since this tree isn't technically a house, and isn't technically outside, the decay rate is slowed but not halted.

You can't make cellars in Tree homes since there's only dirt under it, and you won't gain much from it.

The only incident I would think players would complain, is that griefers can chop down your house! But you can't get logs out of it since it's hollowed to some extent.

personally i dont like the idea of live-in trees, BUT i do support having giant awesome ancient trees.

I feel like they should very rarely spawn (VERY rarely) and take a long long long time to grow. and have multiple stages. And just have these ancient trees scattered around. Or have them be the climax of a quality node, so everything around it is high quality? Maybe something like a banyan tree (would be amazing) or a giant redwood. Or something akin to that.

I do find though that the way OP made the house was fair. Maybe they can be planted but maybe they take like a month til they are able to start affecting the tree node? Just throwing in my ideas.

i meant for that to not actually be able to be planted.
just very very rare random spawn that grows full over the course of a year or something ridiculous like that.
and it cant be player grown.

Well I just threw in that because unless theres a way for them to spawn they'd be extinct. But I guess if Loftar puts back in tree spawning these would be safe-ish. Only problem I see is how would it tell the difference between player planted trees, and spawned trees? The system would need some better mechanics to know the difference between them.

Technically a forest of giant ancient trees do exist, but they have to avoid any contacts with players for like 30 real time days, undiscovered.
Once discovered, and is being processed by players (cutting, trampling, etc.), the growth of the trees in the area will be halted.

Basically this idea means you can come upon a rare "Great Forest".

Obviously, with trees being this ancient, and untouched, also means the ecosystem is well suited to it.
Bears and Boars roam these area more often (should be up to 200% higher chance than normal) and thus a greater risk to players.
Heck, even higher leveled animals would be neat, like level 15 bears and boars, or even level 20 giant bears!

But then we'd have to call them "Great Bear Forest".
