Negative Karma forum section

Postby Blaze » Mon Jul 27, 2009 4:21 pm

Too many threads have been more or less ruined by people flaming each other. Can we have a place to concentrate all the forum AIDS, so the ones that actually want to contribute to threads can do so without getting sidetracked by the piles of hormonally-induced raeg?
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

I think the best way to do this would be to start a new forum and keep the location hidden. Then invite the first two hundred hearthlings... but that wouldn't work either because someone would give the password/location out...

And it would be the best way to completely stagnate the game by making it even more elitist and stopping any growth.

You know how you fix crap? You moderate the forums and hand out bannings and delete posts, not come up with some childish bad karma forum.

Well. I was hoping that those had some modicum of self-control and would take their persistent flaming to PM, but that never happens. I was also hoping that said people would solve it in the game, but that also never happens. They seem to like arguing in front of everyone in an effort to prove whose e-penis is larger, so I figured that giving them a section in which to clash egos would keep them from bothering the rest of us who don't give a gentle caress.

Yea, i agree that the issue needs to be address, it's silly how everything seems to be taken near instantly into offtopic arguements and flamefests.
Throwing suggestions and criticisms in the same breath as insults and personal attacks pretty much makes everyone ignore the actual useful suggestions.
Sadly it takes far more effort then i would like for me to pick out the actual logical helpful points in the various arguements made, as people seem dedicated to personal attacks.

However i am unsure what exactly would constitute a good solution, as i am sure that many people will continue to harass others, and no doubt they will respond in kind. I suppose moderation is entirely possible, however i have no idea if the devs really want to go that far, and have doubts if they would want to put in the effort. Although i guess Kaka is technically the global moderator.

The reason threads devolve into flames is because something starts in that thread, no amount of new forums will stop it continuing in that thread.
Adding a new forum is a waste of time rather the forum needs proper moderation.

I think he intended moderation to be increased in the other forums if a /b/ style board is implemented? The flame board could be unmoderated and the rest could be moderated :3 These forums are terrible the way they are.

Or you know, not have a stupid forum for flaming and keep the forum as a whole more mature? If you want 4chan you go to 4chan.
