leech-proof boots

Leeches are great. Except when you live near a swamp and they keep getting stuck to you, and interrupting your hunting and whatever else you might be doing....

I was thinking about the possibility of some kind of "wader" style boots (maybe it could cover the shoe slot and one pants slot?). Make it out of a bunch of linen or leather, then duck it with beeswax (10? 20? i'd guess it would have to be a non-trivial amount). Whenever they are equpped, you don't pick up leeches. Maybe you get some other little boost to a stat or skill too.

well i mean you can just leave the bloated leeches on if you don't have any other equipment, they won't unbloat, will never do more damage to you, and will prevent new ones from attaching

Exactly. And i always hate to fall back on "solutions" that may work perfect well in practice but are just superficially ugly.

edit: removed a word that made this sound patronizing, which i didn't intend at all :P

All footwear is leech-proof because it prevents leeches from attaching to that spot of your body. 8-)

I don't like this idea because:

1. Leeches are awesome
2. It would make gloves and belts useless

I think we shouldn't be able to pick nettles while having bare hands, that gives gloves a purpose...
