make harvesting like dig clay rather than a right click menu

right click context menus only really make sense for things that have more than one option. the only thing you do to crops is harvest them. it also gets really old if you are harvesting a large field. i'd like to see harvesting as a tool like lift, dig clay, repair, lay stone, etc. etc. it would be pretty cool if you could make planting the same way. edit: it probably makes more sense in a lot of ways to make planting a shift-rightclick function.

Or you know, just make it right click to harvest and take out a key.

I'm sure it's do-able, however the complication is that so far as the client is concerned, the crop is just an object that it's allowed to request an interaction menu from... The server then gives it a list of things it can do to interact with said crop, and then the user picks one so the client sends that to the server.

So to make right click instant harvest, the client would have to be substantially more intelligent than it is, and it might make it harder for Loftar to arbitrarily add more functionality to the crops at a later date (eg, fertilize, pollinate by hand, shake, remove aphids).

If there were some other programmer, or group of programmers who would dedicate their time to maintaining a slightly more intelligent UI (hint hint nag nag) then I'm sure harvesting would be made pretty easy :P

how about using shift as an hotkey to perform the action when only 1 action is available?

I would also like to see shift-planting, it is almost the same as using shift to add more fuel to a smelter

I agree that the planting/harvesting process should be streamlined.
