Trees falling over fix..

Postby genusis » Tue Oct 05, 2010 4:54 pm

Well the most annoying thing is when you cut a tree and it falls over and a log or 2 Gets stuck on the ledge where you can not Pick it up or cut it. i think Tree logs should be able to be picked up From there ends instead of just in the middle so this way they will not just sit on a ledge and never be able to get at them. At least make the logs disappear after a certain amount of time, but i think making Logs pick up able by there edges and middle both will be a better solution to this.

Yeah I agree; someone also suggested that with a rope equipped you could lasso such objects from an nearby tile as well, which is a neat idea.

I think detection system need to be made that will cause the logs to contine to move untill that find a clear tileif thay fall of a cliff or onto a natral rock, suffer decay (vanish in about 1 week?) if in water, have a chance of knocking over the tree or/then falling to the side of the tree if it falls on another tree.
And if it falls on player made structures it should cause dammage to the structure, possably to the point of destroying the structure (penertrate a palisade but leave the house still standing) in the event that the building is not destroyed the log will land either before or after the object hit. Also if one lands on part of a large construction (eg timber house) site and doesn't destroy it, it is moved off the site during the building of the site.
Save our trees. Say NO to clear-cutting.

I think it would help a lot if you could cut a tree and have the logs fall on the ground opposite of you instead of the logs falling one direction all the time (would make it less of a PITA to maintain a tree farm).
