More recipes for meat

Postby Zirikana » Fri Oct 15, 2010 9:01 pm

I do a bunch of hunting, and i do sausage and cheese making, so i end up always needing intestines. But after doing enough hunting to get enough intestines, I always wind up with a massive surplus of meat and bones. Bones are good for arrows and glue, so no problem there. But i hate to throw things away, and i always want to find a use for whatever surplusses i might have.

I was thinking of possible Meat dishes that are inbetween sausages and plain roast meat.

0) Cutlet
Any kind of raw meat + smithy hammer and anvil (lol) = cutlet

I) Schnitzel
Piece of any bread + quern => breadcrumbs (maybe use a harvester table to dry the bread first?)
breadcrumbs + egg + cutlet = raw schnitzel
fry in pan over fire.
[i think i've seen something similar in another post, but i couldn't find it]

II) Roulades
Several pieces of cutlets from different animals (maybe varying FEP types like sausages?)
+ butter + peppercorns + milk + flour => raw roulade
into over to roast
[I've made fish roulades IRL from salmon and haddock and cod too, and it's quite tasty.]

Maybe it's a little too convoluted. I still think it would be nice to have something else to do with meat besides roast it, sausage-ize it, or toss it.

What about giving Batter another use? I believe there are some meat-recipes that involve batter or similar out there.

I agree, I have a really hard time finding use for all the mutton I produce.

Also, obligatory plug for my cheese steak sandwich thread.

"More recipes" is always a good basis for an idea, IMO. In regard to uses for meat in general, how about carnivorous livestock? Just throwing out "mink" as an example off the top of my head.

Well I know Minks are planned, and drawn.

I really can't wait for them to come in, they look so awesome, I want to be a mink breeder

Meat + onion + frying pan = yummy. :D

Frying pan needs more usage too.
