Stew

Right now many foods provide diminishing returns for higher level players. A good solution for this is maturing stew and preserving foods for FEP bonuses.

Stews could require onions or leeks as ingredients and while taking a long time to slow cook, would ultimately provide a good food experience. Like tea or beer, being several servings per quaff.

The time consumption and more effort required could justify more FEP gain. Depending on the ingredients thrown in, it could change what food experience type you get. Fish for intelligence and the like. Would be interesting, I believe many would enjoy an upgrade of this type.

Stew could go through several stages just like cheese.

Stews are not exactly hard to do in real life or in games, I can't see the fascination with this notion of people brewing up these ridiculous potions that only take an hour or two to complete.

Why not simply make fine foods? Or shit, pizza even. A simply leg of ham could last any normal person a week (God damn ham off the bone is hard to come by).

Community stews were VERY common in the era this game takes place, and as for stews not being hard, Are you insane?

The stews you eat are not very nutritious or good, Quality stews take DAYS TO COOK!

I support this idea. We could use a new plant for the base of the stew, too. People have suggested potatoes before, but it doesn't really fit the game setting. Turnips would work well, I think.

Oh yes, more advanced foods are most certainly coming -- we've got lots of fun ideas in that general direction. And, yes: Turnips, not potatoes. :)

I know you are probably considering this already, but you really should be careful of the ease of production for higher end foods, It's one thing for a young character to skyrocket stats to a point, but another completely for a young character to gather a few ingredients and find no end in sight, That's why I suggest a lengthy process, not difficulty of gathering said foods.

Days and difficulty are not commonplace.
