Map co-ordinates system.

It would make locating areas extremely easy, and as far as I know most games have it as standard. Enable a type of co-ordinate system above the mini-map perhaps?
I will steal all of the RuneStones in the land, if your stone has gone missing in the night then I'm already hauling it.

It seems like getting lost should be an important feature in this game.

By all means, but when you don't want to lose yourself it comes in good use to have some sort of way to map the area around you so as you can get back to resources which are harder to locate if you do not have a good memory, for instance the map that I am currently occupying has no real defining traits so to speak, so locating wood resources then getting back home can be a task.

Though, even a map marker or some form of way to mark an area so that you may return would be very useful than just wondering arund with an otherwise useless mini-map (When the terrain is all the same.)

I believe the devs have written about the possibility of some sort of cartography skill after the new map is implemented.

I agree, we need a proper X/Y system like in most standard MMORPGs.

no, we totally don't. this sort of thing kills off exploration

ps. i find the minimap very useful when compared to the world map. we don't need a GPS pinpointing our location on the map, use your eyes
