This isn't an idea, just a critique. We can spiral our levels as high as we want and that's fine and all, but with animals being a certain level while it is certainly challenging at first it loses it's challenge very easily and animals just become pushovers, bears killed in one sting, everything else in one shot of a sling.
I'm not saying for the sake of LP, but we need something harder to fight or there needs to be some way for these things to get stronger and more aggresive, maybe if many of the solitary animals helped out other animals nearby, like deer attacking as herds, I don't know but... what I do know is that hunting gets boring fast and the LP for it is really only good at that point because of how fast you kill monsters, but after you have over 1,000 skill points in something and it costs you 100k LP (10+ bears) to level one skill, it doesn't matter what you can do faster, that you can DoG 2IP and sting him in that round, or that you can kill the bear with a single punch, there's just no growth after a point.
I haven't hit that point with melee, but I've run into a plateau in Marksmanship that I won't surpass with anything more than raising my sling Q, and with Melee once you get to the point of stinging a bear at any attack bear (40%+ works usually) it doesn't even matter anymore. If you went the UA path I guess you can eventually get to the point of a punch doing it all, but I honestly just don't see it mattering past a certain point, since it doesn't matter how fast you can kill the bear, it becomes how fast you can find a bear, and I don't know about other hearthlings but bears are a rare enough sight for me.
