So I've been thinking about Rams and I wondered if it might make a difference if we changed the way they inflict damage. Lets say rams get damage per strike. You'll break through the wall a lot faster with more people and more strength and you don't have to wait 24hrs. I should think 6 or 12 hours would be good drying time but the idea here is that an breaking walls needs to become feasible but be a protracted affair.
I mean, that question really isn't how long it should take the ram to dry but rather how long should it take 4 guys, with archers or doubling as such, with 800* str ea to knock down a brick wall.
*or whatever we feel is a reasonable efficacy of investment peak considering the value of actual cost should be done in AW terms.
That value can be worked backwards to a minimum strength value, and returns on further investment should diminish.
We can make the ram take a repair delay to determine how strong you need to be and declare it in 15m intervals that it takes a repaired ram. So you've got to come out and face a few showdown every so often. The stronger you are, the fewer showdowns, the better shape you are in when you finally break in.
Then it becomes a pulsating battle. It also makes it MUCH easier for homeowners to use rams to knock down their own palisades because the intervals are more regular and can comes easily betwixt other activities and keeping a diverse array of short task todo lists seems to be the way I prefer to play so I can do what I want rather than grind on something. Keep it fresh so to speak.
