Stickers to the bottle.

H1, dev's. My dream is to become the greatest alcohol-produsing master. And i think, that some day stickers with my sign will be a warranty of premium quality. At example - to create a Sticked bottle u will need parchment, bottle, and bone glue.

I like the general idea of being able to brand products you create (perhaps maybe only of QL over 100 or some other point), but this particular method is a little detail specific to be that useful.

Say I put a sticker on to make a QL 500 Chateau Snob Pretentious-Grade branded wine; what happens when I pour the wine out? Do I get a Chateau Snob Pretentious-Grade empty bottle? And if so, is that bottle now unusable by the end consumer? Or is every component branded individually? That could get pretty tedious to track. Also, the point of brands, is that over time brands develop a reputation for their quality level, which is used as a method of appraisal by consumers. In the Hearthlands, every object has it's inherent quality obviously displayed through the most basic interface appraisal, so the need of branding isn't really there.
Hearthlings: Marona; Chamberlain (retainer alt), Vincavec (shaman of the Dryad Wells Forest)

Some mechanics as they work in real life:
1. You can put a wax seal on a peace of parchment - seals of various kinds are generally difficult and expensive to forge, but not impossible.
2. You can write a variety of stuffs on parchment - you have a lot of freedom in what and how to write.
3. You can glue a piece of parchment to most any object you can think of - some of those uses will make alot of sense, some will not.
4. You can put a wax seal on most any object you fancy, again, sometimes sealing something will make sense, in e.g. such a way that a functionality of the objekt is broken until the seal is broken, sometimes it will not make sense.

Some sort of implementation of those rules could be alot of fun - artificial rules as to what quality a wine must have to deserve a sticker etc. sounds boring.

E.G.:
1) Write elaborate brand name on piece of parchment.
2) Put personal wax seal on parchment.
3) Glue parchment to bottle.
4) Fill bottle with urine.
5) Seal the bottleneck with personal wax seal.

It is your right as a hearthling to name your bow what you will.
NaoWhut wrote:can i then engrave the name on it

I have no idea, this thread has not yet had a suggestion about engravings.

Yes, if you chose to go to the lengths of glueing a scrap of parchment to your bow, it would be both sticky and attached.
As for UI handling this, maybe a click would bring up a "read parchment" choice in the flower menu?

Gods no, if they included this, a labelled item should have it's label pop up when you mouse-over, read parchmenting everytime would be a PITA.

On the other hand, it would be preferable to me to be able to turn parchment into labels with the application of glue (Or maybe 2 labels? 4 labels?) and have a limited amount of text you could put on them, say 100 runes. (And as a side-suggestion, since parchment currently has a 100 rune limit, increasing it's limit to, say, 400, or at least 256)

The devs are already moaning about bandwidth re: FEP tooltips. I suspect that not having it as a flower menu choice would only make that problem worse.
