idea to fix x-ray vision

make it so that you cant see any players past an object. For example if theres anything blocking line of sight of someone you wont be able to see them . like in a 3d mmo
wall [
player 0
seeable ,
blockage .
,,,,,,,,,,[........o
0 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,[..... o
cannot see past what natural sight allows except in a party.
This would make the game quite more dynamic although i have no idea if this would be hard to program or not.

BRING ON THE NITPICKING ON MY POST I CAN TAKE IT

Also on an unrelated note since this has never been mentioned, has anyone attacked jorb or loftar in game? if so who won? are they as godly as im told?
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

would be nice, although iirc thats kind of demanding on games that add it

ps. how would you see outside your own walls? watchtowers?

You bring up a good point but in my idea i mean to make it impossible to see past your own walls, you could see everything on the other side but you would not be able to see players, you would also be abkle to see rams at your wall. This would also solve the problem with having to place your hearth inside a house to not get summoned even when your walled and people who prefer to use melee having a gamebreaking disadvantage when they are being pelted behind a wall because really how can you accurately nail someone with arrows when they are behind a tree or behind a wall. Honestly

There has been some discussion about this in other threads, and from what I can deduce, preventing x-ray would not be possible. All graphics are held client-side so anybody who knows how to manipulate the client can pretty much do as they wish with the graphics, whether they want to add a toggle for transparency or if they want to paint everything with rainbows. I'm not entirely sure if this is solvable from the server side or not... :/

As far as killing a dev, I think I remember someone posting some screenies of Jorb or Loftar's dead body, but I don't remember who or where. If I can find it again, I'll update this post.

Your missing my point entirely. The point was that it should be changed where you cant shoot someone who is behind a wall and players being unseeable unless in direct sight of them. This was never about how to "destroy walls" also it takes more than a day for a siege engine to be operatable, this is about being behind a wall and still bring attackable.

Think you forgot to read what was written in the reply.

I said there should still be a way for archers to be used the way they are supposed to be. you countered that melee was too underpowered. thus, my reply

I dont want to argue with you jackard, Its better we focus on the task at hand and that is fixing the x-ray problem which is what this was all about. If you like the idea lets add on it see if we can work something out. We may make history in haven and hearth with this post who knows.

archers not being able to shoot past a wall seems like a pretty big problem of its own. isnt that like the entire point? how else are you supposed to ward off attackers?
