Ships

Postby mxmajewski » Sun Dec 05, 2010 7:25 pm

I was thinking recently about moving to another place, reflecting on this I got the idea to move by the river, but the current boats are too small to efficiently move items and so I got the idea of ships.

They should have between 40 to 68 empty space objects. and be made example of the 400 boards, 50 blocks of wood, 40 Linien cloths. Take 12 people, the first of which was that the steersman. And be 10 lenght and 4 width.

So what do you think about it?

I like the idea. But maybe something on a little smaller scale. More like.. Longships or Dragon boats that the Norse used. That would make it more relevant to the whole Germanic, Norse theme of the game. A lot of Linen would, of course, be required. I also think that it would require maybe 4 people to lift? Seeing as it's a boat, and would be geared towards larger groups of people. Maybe a maximum of 8 people within?

Replica of a Norse Longship:

Yea your's idea is nice too. But about lifting your boat mabe let's use some kind of cart which will need 4-6 people to be pulled. And the speed would be determinated on strenght.

But all the rivers in the world should NOT be connected, that's not how rivers roll, in general.

if there's no river, but you have to move your ship - than it has to be like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burlak they did.

Why not go the whole way Zheng He Treasure Ship Style. Build all our buildings on the boat along with portable farm and all.

Uh. You have the source of the river, which eventually leads to the sea. Regardless of how many other other bodies of water it travels through, it still leads to the sea. Therefore, all of the rivers in the world are connected.
