Offline play

Postby saltmummy626 » Fri Dec 17, 2010 11:09 am

Dont know if its been suggested, I tried to look but couldn't find anything, well here goes; how about an offline mode? wait wait wait, I can sense you pulling back from me but let me explain a bit. firstly I make this suggestion because I spend a lot of time, without an internet connection and would like to play H&H in places like... work or a friend who has no internets place.

Here's how it could work, and before we start Id also like to say that I know this would take a lot of work to implement, the map for offline play would be generated and stored on your own PC and not clogging up the servers, the characters for offline play would be kept separate from your online play ones to prevent offline grinding. the world in offline play would be small in comparison to the one we play online, maybe only 4 super grids.

Now I know some of you are thinking, "whats the point of playing H&H offline?" well the point is to waste some time, like the current version and all other games are for. I don't know, just something I thought would be cool. I suggest it because Ive never found a game like H&H that you don't have to pay for or pay monthly fees for.

Wouldn't be a bad idea in my opinion, but the cool thing about HnH is the online socializing, we should be able to establish our own servers so we could play with a few friends or sumthin >_>

It wouldnt be such a bad idea to have a very small map that has all the things available now, a standard map for everyone. It would be the ideal place for people to experiment with house layouts, etc. Also a great place for new people to simply try all the game features alone. It may be harder to get food if there is noone to trade with in the beginning... dunno, the idea needs work

That might have something to do with the fact that is in a beta ... erm, alpha stage.

Idea sound ... well it don't sounds like anything, Other that maybe a great way for unlimited automation testing.
But thats me.

On top of that. I don't think this will happen. Ever. (To much Dev work, on something that (to me at least) has no apparent payback.)

Private servers or at least hamachi servers seems pretty cool to me.

IMO I think support for this should be added but not make it so that everyone is playing them.

Would you like the server source code with your single-player mode?

Hah, your vote only counts as 1, if enough of use support this, you will have to do it anyway!
