when you inherit from a previous character, you should inherit their kin list.

Hmmm... I'd suggest you'd be able to choose on a list what people you wanna re-kin.

anything is better then keeping a Microsoft word document then trying to re-find these people

the game should also allow for name reusing

This. Although it would be quite comfortable to inheret the list and I wished for it too, but it is serving a purpose besides realism.

I like having the kinslist reset. Means I don't have the losers that annoy me kinned, or the losers that annoy me that I killed don't have me kinned anymore. Means I don't have the people I'm plotting to kill after I suicide for a better ancestor kinned. Its easy enough to rekin the people you need to stay in contact with and really its just a nice way to clean out that long ass list.

I understand the importance of this, as I've had my main murdered before and lost quite a bit of contacts I met in the Hearthlands. But for some reason I don't think it would be a very good thing in the long run, as with the start of a new character your goals and behaviors may change (perhaps you are starting new looking for revenge, etc.). It's a new character, a new beginning, and would just be wierd instantly knowning all the other hearthlings and being able to detect their presence (also could be unsafe for your new hearthling, or possibly them).
Hearthlings: Marona; Chamberlain (retainer alt), Vincavec (shaman of the Dryad Wells Forest)

Think about it, when you die, should you really remember all of the people you've met?
