That sounds like a bit of a letdown... Cavemen shouldn't live as luxurious as the so-called "surface folk"; I can understand some limits, but such tiny areas feels like it would suck the fun/viability out of it.

So, the minimum distance between supports would be 10 tiles.

A Stone Mansion takes 8x8 tiles.

There's probably some extra factor in here that I'm not counting, but shouldn't that mean stone mansions have plenty of space to be built?

I'm guessing supports must be built 5-tiles adjacent to another support, otherwise i don't really see the problem except for it being a tedium.
