Healing injuries

Postby Emina » Wed Jan 12, 2011 11:40 am

Ok so this world is more fierce then the last two worlds.

The story

i never thaught it would happend to me but i died the other day.
it started out when i tryed out my sling on a fox that i had trapped and so i thaught, it broke the entrappement offcourse and smashed my face in, i did not get knocked out by the first blow so naturally i tryed to run and then i felt another claw in my back and i was knocked down. Healths was at that point 0/1/100 i thaught i was dead but realized i was not :O so as soon as aggro dropped and i wake up from my knockout i teleport to my HF.

so i quickley ate some food and after eating i had gotten 2/2/100 health so what to do, there is no gauze available and it will take a loong time before we can get clovers for wool and you need a loom aswell i belive wich is :o well not available yet at this stage. So all that is left is leaches. yes i spent a loong time with putting leaches on, they suck blood 3 times right i only had 2 in helath so i had to go slow lettting them suck one time and then take it off and then let it suck again and so on this takes a very very loong time. after several bloated leaches that eatch had sucked 3 times i only regained 1 single health so 3/3/100, this drove me insane i didnt want to stand there like an idiot all night. so with my 3 health i went out hunting again so i killed a boar and two foxes. the 3d fox ran like crazy i jumped off my boat and followed a little bit until it started moving towards me again, i started walking back towards my boat and a big lagg came aloong and suddenley i was knocked out by this damn fox. So again i teleported to hearth when aggro was dropped i entered my camp and i was knocked out again thorne in my foot gave me a swift death he he :D god damnit where was my bunny slippers *facepalm*. I dont blame anyone but my own impatience.

The content of it all

Make leaches actually heal every suckle please, or atleast make every leach heal atleast 1 of the suckles. i mean the process is slow and healing from 2 to a 100 allready means 100 leaches as it is if one single leach only heal 1 point come on. i kinda like the more fierce world but give us a fair chance to recover so we can actually play. atleast 6 leaches bloated without giving a single health point waste of time and completley annoying.

Actually i tryed that but i kept getting int instead of con, and i grew impatient.

It still doesnt change the fact that healing at this stage is not really in a satisfactory state.
They have changed things to make it more likley that people will get injurys, so it might be time
to look over the healing process aswell.

Indeed, leeches are pretty useless for healing (unless you just lost a few HP to starving or a thorn in the foot). Though you give up your head slot to use a gauze, it beats leeches hands down as far as viable healing goes, and you'd surely be able to get a gauze long before the leeches could heal any significant amount.

Maybe there should be some forageable item that could be made into some sort of medicine, applied to hearthlings in the same way a gauze is, to create some sort of middlegrounds. While the medicine is in effect, the hearthling could be limited to walking speed or something.

You should just raise your con, eat con only food.

jees another one giving the same advice  stopp with that, i dont need help this is critique & Ideas forum, that char is dead allready. I have moved on.
That was the first day after reestart so how would you figure i would have gotten a ton of con only food by the way.

No im discussing the mechanics of early healing in this game here, wich i feel need a change since i just experienced the difficulties first hand. Or rather the wortlessness of leaches.

Well, of course it's going to be hard to heal yourself a day after the world begins. That's the point, is that it's harder to do things when you don't have as much stuff to do them with.

And if you hadn't noticed, while they made animals more dangerous, they also made them less common, so if you manage to get killed by a fox it's more than likely your own stupid fault for going hunting with 3 HHP left.

And if you keep getting INT instead of CON, perhaps you should try, oh I dunno, eating Constitution food.

What? No way. Have you ever been low on HHP and you put 10 high Ql leeches on yourself? I much prefer it than a gauze.

*sigh* ohh man hold me down... ok im gonna try and stay calm.
what makes you think im blaming anyone for my death i clerly state it was my own fault so what is your problem? me dying is not the issue here, how i got injured is not the issue here.
how to heal when you get injured on low levels is the issue.

so i will explain this very closley now so that there will be no more missunderstandings about what con food is, i was eating roasted fish like pike that gives several FEPs among them Con wich was what we had in the camp at that time that had con in it. But i was unlucky and only got intellect from them. do you understand.

The story explains the issue with the fact that after loosing all my hp the healing part after that was such a fucking PITA and felt impossible after trying for an our, that it finally lead me to keep hunting with only 3 hp even though i knew it could lead to my death. Atleast death gave me my health back.

So i want them to make leaches always give atleast one hp back. i dont wanna sit with leach after leach and nothing happening. I am not sure what kind of issues you are having with this suggestion?

leeches would be overpowered then. keep in mind that the amount they heal scales with quality.

gauze is supposed to be the dependable method of healing. we had gauze yesterday, not really that hard to get early on, especially in a group.
