Critique: Animal Levels Suck my Balls

Postby DatOneGuy » Thu Jan 13, 2011 1:00 am

These animal level caps suck very hardcore. Please remove them. IV foxes? Is that seriously your fix to getting LP too early?

Maybe i'm missing something but I'm hunting around and I can only find bears and deer X, it was bad enough geting fox meat or boar meat a decent Q but now... ridiculous.

I've run into a level X boar before, so they exist.

Not sure about foxes though. Why wouldn't they just nerf the LP gained from a certain animal instead of only spawning low levels?

Lame. So all animals of a certain variety are treated the same? You should be rewarded with higher quality hides/meat for defeating higher level animals. Leveling everything off just seems boring, especially when there are only 4 types of animals.

Why does it suck? Because you get less LP? The idea was to make combat progression feasible. It wasn't intended as a nerf.

Really, this is just stupid. Nerf foxes even more to make them utterly useless? Has been mentioned before that animal levels might not be perfect, but this is the completely wrong direction to fix it. Civ levels actually made it worthwile preserving the enviroment, driving cities off etc etc. Added much more to the gameplay than fix levels. IF you want to have fix levels make them region based, so some towns have awesome hunting grounds, others don't.

Animal levels were also a good way to discover hidden settlements.

I ENJOY killing things that are harder, that's what's fun. I WANT to jump in and kill that bear that hits a lot harder and is more dangerous, or even the fox. And I want to be rewarded for it. If I wanted to fight IV foxes I'd go outside a village and kill them there, I don't want to. I want challenge, and I want to be rewarded when I meet the challenge.

Yes, and I had big plans around civ levels, kinda annoying if I can just drop a village and put it anywhere that makes it easier, but it's pretty annoying, I enjoyed finding new places constantly.
