You used to think the water was safe. Until now. DUN DUN DUN. 'hem.

Yes. Sharks. Water-based attackers. Because there isn't enough things that can kill us yet.

Discuss.

In my imaging of things, Haven and Hearth waters are mostly fresh water where sharks don't typically live. If there was a salt-water sea (and hopefully there is eventually) I could see sharks springing into existence, but even then I've never heard of a non-movie shark attacking even a small boat. Swimming bears would add plenty of boating danger I think, and would make more sense.

Do brown bears swim in deep water? I've never seen or heard of them crossing deep rivers.

The linked article says river sharks are known to exist in south Asia and Australia - not exactly the setting for this game. As to your second point, rivers in this game are only about 10 meters across. I think a bear could swim ten meters, though I don't recall actually seeing any examples of such a thing happening.

I'm sure they'd be able to survive in a european environment especially considering things like tabacco and tea are in this world. Since there is no other type of ecosystem tea and tobacco shouldn't exists within the game world.

Eels don't typically live in freshwater so introducing salt water animals isn't really far fetched.

I think it would be nice if the sharks weren't too aggressive, but had the strength of a bear and could out run your boat(and destroy it). They could give shark fins and shark meat.

You know what we need? Another animal you can kill safely from a distance.

And you don't even need a boat for this one!

Not sure about sharks, but...

Vicious river turtles... that's more my cup of tea. Creeping up on unsuspecting bottle grinders on the beach.

Or maybe piranha that start to eat through your boat.
