LP from digging should depend on rock hardness

Postby mukaejib » Mon Jan 31, 2011 2:26 pm

as i understand there is few levels of hardness, or something like this.
the more rock is hard - the more lp you should gain.

for example the standart LP gain is 18 for all.
Since the hardness is 200 (20 strenght*10 quality stone axe) - Lp gains changes to 22
and so there should be a proportional LP grow.

however i guess the pick is 54 LP gain (or more) For like 4000 hardness (100 strenght*40q tool) something like that.

Also it may depend on Ore quality, or stone quality. It even may be a new "Mining skill" like a carpentry, which will boost ore gaining chance. It's only the suggestions, so only developers will chose ;)

(My english is sucks, yeye.)

I like this, it's rediculous to assume that someone who mines for three seconds should get the exact same amount of lp as someone who has to mine for 30 seconds on a harder rock. This would help in the anti-grindfest thing that ppl have going.

Technically giving more LP to either side of the grindfest, whether the person who works longer or shorter, would just encourage grinding.

But still, +1.

I actually suggested this before they nerfed mining LP. Draw your own conclusions.

So LP gain rate should scale with strength? Why?

LP gains already do scale with stats. Why should they not here?

Good point. I guess as long as it doesn't scale linearly with hardness it's fine.
